Neosurf now available in Romania after signing agreement with PayPoint

Bucharest, 11 November 2015 - PayPoint Romania, the leading retail-based bill and mobile top-up payment service in Romania has signed an agreement with Neosurf, an international provider of prepaid services for online payments. From now on, Romanian consumers will be able to exchange cash for Neosurf e-money in order to pay online in a simple, safe and convenient way.

Recent research shows that 40% of Romanian online shoppers are anticipating an increase in their spending in the coming year (Gemius Research - Ecommerce Romania 2014). In this context, providing a simple and secure method of payment that confers complete confidentiality, similar to cash, is a great benefit to consumers. The Neosurf agreement means that PayPoint is bringing to Romania a new service that makes online payments more readily available to consumers.

The whole process of converting cash into e-money is simple, safe and quick: consumers can go into any one of the 9,200-plus PayPoint stores in Romania where they will buy Neosurf vouchers, in cash, for the desired amount (25, 50, 100 or 300 RON). The vouchers feature a secret code that is used online to pay at any one of Neosurf’s online partner stores, without disclosing other financial, personal, bank, or credit/debit card information.

"With the signing of this agreement, PayPoint marks a new first, bringing the services of this global player to the local market. This new launch emphasises, once more, the efforts we make in diversifying the products and services we offer, by meeting the ever more diverse needs of our consumers. For PayPoint, security and convenience represent key elements and that’s why we are convinced that the advantages of our payment system will be appreciated by Neosurf users who are looking for practical ways to make secure online payments”, said Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director PayPoint Romania.

“Since lauching Neosurf in France in 2004, I have wanted to bring it to fast growing markets such as Romania. Working with a respected provider such as PayPoint and their highly professional network of retailers, will make the safety and convenience of online cash payments a reality for millions of consumers who don’t have or don’t want to use credit cards on the internet"said Nicolas Saubie, President Neosurf Cards SAS.

Neosurf has been available to users worldwide since 2004 and the company is known for its high degree of convenience and safety regarding online payments. Neosurf vouchers are accepted by thousands of websites from various industries, such as online entertainment (online games, betting, gambling etc.) and others. Many of the world’s leading online platforms will be launching payment by Neosurf in the coming months.
