PayPoint teams up with paysafecard in Romania

paysafecard vouchers now available in over 6,600 new locations throughout Romania

Bucharest, 28 May 2012: PayPoint Romania, one of the main cash payment operators in Romania, and paysafecard group, Europe’s leading prepaid payment provider, have signed an agreement which enables PayPoint retailers to offer their customers paysafecard vouchers through PayPoint terminals.

Starting this month, paysafecard will be available in more than 6,700 PayPoint convenience stores nationwide, where customers will be able to pay cash to purchase a paysafecard voucher in the desired denomination.

paysafecard vouchers enable consumers to use an easy and secure prepaid solution similar to cash for their online purchases. In order to make a payment at one of the online shops that accept paysafecard as a payment method, users simply enter the 16 digit PIN that comes with each voucher. When making a payment, customers' financial privacy remains fully intact, as no credit card or bank account is required. The amount paid is then debited from the paysafecard balance, which can be checked online at any time.

“Our partnership with paysafecard group is an important step towards implementing new business lines and creating an extensive portfolio of clients across a diverse range of products and services. We are delighted to be teaming up with a leading provider of prepaid solutions so we can better fulfil the needs of our customers through greater use of PayPoint terminals," said Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director of PayPoint Romania.

Michael Mueller, CEO of paysafecard group, said: “With thousands of sales outlets across the country, PayPoint will certainly help us strengthen our position in Romania. Thanks to the increased availability of our vouchers, more consumers can now make online purchases without the need of a credit or debit card.”
