PayPoint Announces an Agreement with Eurolines

Bucharest, 6 July 2017 – PayPoint Romania, the main retail-based cash and mobile payment operator in Romania, announces a new partnership with Eurolines, one of the largest international coach transportation services provider in Romania. From now on, travelers who choose from any one of the 400-plus weekly European destinations served by Eurolines can pay their bus tickets in any one of the more than 11.300 PayPoint partner stores in Romania.

By signing this agreement, PayPoint is extending its range of partners in the transportation industry. This is another important step taken by the company towards developing its portfolio with increasingly varied payment options, to offer consumers as many services that they need, where they need them.

To purchase a bus ticket, the client calls any Eurolines agency or makes an online reservasion (by choosing the PayPoint payment method available on the website); they go to their nearest PayPoint store with either the bar-coded payment notification (received by email) or the reservation code received by SMS. The attendant at the PayPoint partner store scans the payment document or enters the code using the terminal keyboard, collects the money in cash and hands the consumer a receipt issued by the terminal with the transaction details (date, amount paid, supplier etc).

“Our objectives have always been clear: to provide Romanians with the most varied array of quick and secure payments in the largest network of partner stores. We have developed a very diverse portfolio which is now nearing 140 suppliers and a network of over 11.300 partner stores located where our consumers need them. Now we are announcing our second partner from the transportation industry and we are convinced that Eurolines’ passengers will also appreciate the benefits of our system, the fact that they can pay for their bus tickets in PayPoint partner stores that are nearby and with long hours where they do their shopping” said Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director PayPoint Romania.

“The partnership we have agreed with PayPoint came at a time when demand for coach transportation is growing, with passengers coming from both urban and rural areas, and we wanted to provide them with another secure method of paying for the tickets they reserved. Consequently, the passenger calls any one of the 80 Eurolines or TUI TravelCenter Agencies, contacts a consultant who will provide them with all the details they need, including handling the ticket reservation and go to their nearest PayPoint store to make the payment”, said Cosmin Marinof, Sales Director Eurolines.

The practical advantage for Eurolines’ passengers it that they can reserve their ticket anywhere in the country with a simple phone call and pay for the journey quickly, securely and easily at their nearest PayPoint payment point, without an additional fee.

This agreement adds to the portfolio of partners from the transportation industry that can be made through PayPoint. Along with paying for Eurolines bus tickets, consumers can use PayPoint terminals for paying the road tax, utility bills (electricity, gas, sanitation, water, etc.), mobile phone plans, internet or cable TV, security services, financial services, plane tickets, as well as buy mobile phone top-ups and even transfer money, both internally and internationally, at selected PayPoint locations.
